Brew Fest & Civic Days
Tomorrow brings my favorite Civic Days event, the downtown block party. Last year’s event was unbelievable, with thousands of people strolling up and down Main Street enjoying dozens of different performances, admiring classic cars, and eating lots of great food. The evening ended with fireworks, shot from Crocker Field but clearly visible from the City Hall area of Main Street.
Of course, in addition to the array of events organized by Fitchburg’s Civic Days committee, we’re fortunate to have this week’s celebrations coincide with the Longsjo Classic (here's my blog post from last year). Be sure to head downtown to catch some of the races and to enjoy the kiosks that will be set up, including a rock climbing wall (and, if I’m remembering correctly, the current issue of the Fitchburg Pride includes a flyer with a coupon for a free climb).
I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July!

Erica,
I hope you're looking forward to the Fall Festival and Forge-In. It was fun last year, _I'm_ gonna be there, and I expect to have a few of my students there too.

Glad to hear you'll be there again this year Carl! I'm actually on the planning committee this year and looking forward to another great event. For anyone curious about the details, here's the link for October 18th's event.
This years Brew Fest is June 27. See www.beersforgood.com for more info and tickets. I'll be seeing you there!
